Inspirations around the world

In July, on the occasion of Manchester International Festival, an old abandoned printing press was turned into an experimental farm. The owner of the building is Urban Splash - a real estate development company, which specializes in revitalization. The company rented this building for a Biospheric foundation at a reduced price for ten years.

Emerald Street Urban Farm was founded in 2009 and established on five once abandoned, littered and overgrown weeds plots in the East Kensington. This farm and garden is located in close proximity to residential blocks and functions for the local population.

In fact, almost everywhere in the neighborhood of blocks, in parks, on rooftops, and even at airports an urban agriculture in Chicago “blooms”.

There are more than a thousand community gardens in New York. One of them is located in PS1 Contemporary Art Exhibition Centre in Queens district. The whole enterprise is powered by solar energy.

Urban Physics Garden developed on a patch on neglected London land. Plants that grow in this garden are selected in terms of having healing features.

In 2009 in Berlin organization Nomadisch Grun together with the local community and activists founded the herb - urban vegetable garden –Prinzessinnengarten.

Permacultural park designed by British artist Nils Norman on 80 square meters. A lot of vegetables were set here.
